Petros Farms · 100m Monument
A 100-metre perimeter mural commission at Petros Farms, Egbelu Nguru, Imo State — transforming an agricultural landmark into a monument of cultural identity. Conceived as a total environment, the work weaves together imagery of labour, harvest, and community belonging across the full boundary wall of the farm. Delivered in 2022 and permanently installed, it remains one of the largest single-artist public art works in south-east Nigeria.
Legacy Commission · Asele Institute
In Honour of Prof. Uche Okeke
A landmark installation at the Asele Institute, Nimo, honouring the late Professor Uche Okeke — foremost Nigerian modernist, pioneer of the Uli art tradition, and founding figure of contemporary African art. This commission places UmanoGraphics Studio within the continuing legacy of one of Nigeria's greatest artistic monuments.

The Artist
Nnanna Okorie Uma is an internationally exhibited, multidisciplinary visual artist and the principal of UmanoGraphics Studio, Nigeria. His practice operates at the intersection of forensic precision and emotional depth — treating the canvas as a site of archival inquiry and the wall as a monument to collective endurance.
With a foundational background in Physics and Science Laboratory Technology, and a Master's Degree in Conflict, Security, and Development from the University of Sussex, Uma synthesises scientific rigour with humanist storytelling. He investigates — recording the invisible architecture of labour, identity, and human resilience in high-fidelity form.
His large-scale public works have transformed spaces across Nigeria: a 100-metre perimeter mural at Petros Farms, Imo State; landmark installations at the Asele Institute honouring the late Professor Uche Okeke; murals at Aridon Gym and a Mini Stadium, Umunze. He has been commissioned by the Nigerian Naval War College, Calabar, to produce the complete portrait lineage of the Chiefs of Naval Staff.
Philosophy
"I paint not to imitate life, but to expose the invisible dialogues that hold it together."
My art lives in the tension between what we see and what we feel — between the visible and the imagined. Each piece begins as a quiet question about existence, emotion, and the architecture of the human mind.
Faces, gestures, and fleeting silences draw me in. They are symbols of memory and becoming. Through realism and abstraction, through the delicate contrast of charcoal and the fluid force of acrylic, I explore the fragile balance between chaos and beauty, between strength and surrender. In my world, colour breathes. It provokes. It remembers. Every brushstroke becomes an act of translation — turning emotion into form.
My methodology is rooted in what I call Forensic Realism: the rigorous, clinical documentation of the human condition. I treat every brushstroke as a literal energy transfer, honouring the principle that energy is never lost — only transformed. I approach each subject with detachment, precision, and a deep respect for what is being recorded.
My academic path through Physics, Religious Studies, and Conflict, Security and Development continues to shape my practice. The physics of balance, the spiritual pulse of meaning, and the politics of peace all converge on my canvas. Whether in intimate portrait or monumental mural, my work remains a tribute to those who build, dream, and dare to be seen.
Art, to me, is a mirror that does not flatter. It is a language for truth. And beauty — when it is honest — has the power to heal, confront, and awaken.

A rigorous, clinical approach to the human form — treating every subject with the precision of scientific documentation. The visible and the invisible, in equal measure. Every brushstroke a permanent record.
Rooted in the physics principle that energy is never lost — only transformed. Every mark is a literal transfer of the artist's energy into a permanent physical form that outlasts its creator.
Scale is not decoration — it is argument. Whether charcoal on paper or acrylic across 100 metres of masonry, the work operates at the scale its subject demands. Labour, identity, and endurance deserve monument.
